DoTerra Essential Oils

So there are few of the ladies at church, among the many that I know, that use and sell the DoTerra Essential Oils. When they started talking about them I am not gonna lie...they seemed a little hippie-like to me. However when I had to use the lavender oil one night while at small group because of the mosquitoes I thought...maybe there might be something to this.

When I did the juice fast from Juicer Heroes, the owner also used DoTerra in his personal juices and would explain why we should too. From here I decided to buy the Wild Orange and Slim and Sassy. He said the wild orange would be good in Sunrise Juices and that the slim and sassy is good to use in anything that it would taste well with.

Well my two bottles came in a week ago and I am just now trying out the Slim and Sassy!

According to DoTerra the Slim and Sassy supports your weight maintenance goals with the proprietary essential oil blend of Slim & Sassy.
~ Formulated with Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint, Ginger, and Cinnamon essential oils
~ Promotes healthy metabolism
~ Helps manage hunger cravings
~ Calms your stomach and lifts your mood
~ Diuretic, stimulant, and calorie free (best part!)

The Wild Orange is cold pressed from the peel. Wild Orange releases an energizing, citrusy aroma.
~ Powerful cleanser and purifying agent
~ Protects against environmental and seasonal threats
~ Immune-enhancing benefits
~ Energizing and revitalizing to the mind and body

I did also get a small vile of lavender to try from a friend and it helps me sleep better at night. I dab a little on my collar bone and wrists and it helps a bunch! I Have problems sleeping anyway and Melatonin is my best friend usually so finding something that is more natural I am in favor for!

Back to being selfish

The weekend came and went all to fast. I was able to spend it in New Braunfels with my parents. I even was able to meet my cousin's new baby girl and my soon to be sister in law's brand spankin new little girl.

The last few weeks has been challenging for me...trying to juggle wedding duties, Dave changing jobs, and finding time for myself to run/workout. But Monday was a new day and the start to being selfish again. It has been nice taking just that one hour or so out of the day and hitting the road.

Monday was short and sweet to the park and back

Tuesday was a Road WOD. Every half mile I did 15 push ups and 30 sit ups.
I actually really liked changing it up while running however I just needed to watch
for sticker burrs!
Unfortunately when you live in the heart of the Eagle Ford Shale, there comes a time when everyone wants a part of the action. Our bootcamp instructor recently took a job with a well servicing company and cannot conduct classes on the regular. So whenever he puts up workouts on Facebook, I try to attend! Tonight will be an ambush workout and since I don't have to go to Life Group I am looking forward to his challenge!

My Review

So today marks the fifth day of this juice detox and I have to admit....I made it three solid days without eating anything but yesterday I caved. I was hungry and I wanted a grilled chicken salad.....bad!

I do not regret doing the detox but I think next time I am going to stick with making my own juices. I know I could have made five (or three lol) days of juices for less than $168. Now getting all the glass jars from the juice bar is fantastic and of course I saved them all for the next time. I do think I am going to keep up at least having two juices a day however. This detox leads right into a Whole30 for us.

October is out second round of a Whole30 so I am not going back to old eating habits. The Whole30 program is the brain child of Melissa and Dallas Hartwig.Think of it as a short-term nutritional reset, designed to help you put an end to unhealthy cravings and habits, restore a healthy metabolism, heal your digestive tract, and balance your immune system.Certain food groups (like sugar, grains, dairy and legumes) could be having a negative impact on your health and fitness without you even realizing it.

Dave and I completed one in January and the transformation in him was amazing. I didn't see it so much in myself but we learned so much about our eating habits, what is really in the food we eat, and why we should make better choices.

Since the wedding is about a month out I figured this would be a good time for us to look our best on our big day!

First two days....OMG!

So while on this journey I had every intention of trying to keep up with my normal life...work, exercise, and so forth but at the end of day one (Monday) that was not gonna happen! I left work early because I had a massive headache and when I got home, within 20 minutes I was asleep! I didn't finish all five of the juices I was supposed to actually. I am thinking whatever I am just plain unable to drink in that day I will make ice cubes out of and throw into my smoothies after the juicing thing is over. Shooooot.....$168 for the juice detox so I am not going to let anything go to waste!

While I was at work, being miserable, I did look up what some of the side affects are when you truly do a juice detox the correct way.......Headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue....don't forget hunger are just a few from the first day or two!

I felt much better the second day! I really do think I can tackle this whole thing all the way through. It was hard last night getting home after work and wanting to cook something to eat. With the encouragement of Dave and my sister (who has completed a three day) Friday cannot come fast enough!
